European Farmers Protest EU Environmental Policies in Brussels

Farmers from across Europe gathered in Brussels with tractor convoys to protest the EU’s environmental policies ahead of the European Parliament elections. Demonstrators, including those from France, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, and Italy, blockaded the area around the Atomium, urging the EU to protect agricultural sovereignty and competitiveness. The farmers oppose the EU’s Green Deal, arguing it threatens their livelihoods. The protest primarily involved far-right groups, with many unions choosing not to participate. The European Parliament elections are scheduled for June 6-9.
