EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas called on the United States to pursue diplomacy with Iran, saying in Brussels that “Iran is at its weakest point ever” and that this moment should be used to avoid another war. She said the EU is ready to contribute to a diplomatic solution, including discussions on Iran’s nuclear and missile programs.
Speaking ahead of an EU foreign ministers’ meeting, Kallas also said pressure for peace in Ukraine must shift to Russia, calling Moscow the aggressor. She added that Russian forces should ultimately withdraw from occupied territories in Moldova and Georgia as part of any long-term settlement.
