Evacuations continue on Rhodes Island

The fight against forest fires in Greece continues on the 8th day. At least 40,000 people have been evacuated from Rhodes Island, which is the region most affected by the fires. Two rivers near the villages of Gennadi and Vati in the southern part of Rhodes Island have dried up.

It has been reported that new fires broke out on the Greek island of Evia and have not been brought under control yet.
