The transformer explosion caused widespread panic among passengers, and the subway line’s service was halted following the incident. Around 1,400 passengers were evacuated for security reasons by security forces.
No injuries or casualties were recorded in the incident. According to authorities, the explosion in the transformer was caused by a power line short circuit.
