“Eyes of Nature” Amazes After Snowfall in Sivas, Türkiye

Ağgöl and Karagöl, located side by side in Zara district of Sivas province of Türkiye and resembling two eyes, took on a fairytale-like beauty after the snowfall.

“Due to weather conditions, Ağgöl’s water looks blackish, but under normal conditions, it has a water that resembles a deep blue sky. It has slightly salty water. There are fish we call carp and silverfish in it. Its depth is approximately 16 meters. It is a beautiful lake. It is a place that must be seen. Karagöl has a pitch-black color as it appears. It is a lake that lives up to its name. Since its bottom is also pitch-black, our divers could not conduct any research here. We do not know its depth. There are fish we call silverfish and carp here as well. The fish here are larger than Ağgöl. Although there is a distance of 100 meters between the two lakes, the water of Karagöl is pitch black while the water of Ağgöl is deep blue. We do not know if they are connected to each other from the ground. Our lakes are in a pit. Our tourists come here and take photos,” said Bekir Başar, a local.
