The lost dog of the Yazarlı family, who were rescued from the rubble of their house in Antakya on the first day of the Türkiye earthquake, was found days later by volunteer veterinarians who set up a tent hospital for the animals. The moment a phone call was arrenged between the family and the dog, that was being kept in the tent hospital, the family cried out of happiness for seeing their dogs alive.
The hospital staff is giving the animals affected by the earthquake back to their owners, while the ones that do not have any chips on them are sent to Istanbul to be adopted by volunteers.
Burak Kalafatoğlu, who came from Istanbul to the disaster area to voluntarily cook for earthquake victims, said that he is trying to find new owners for the five goldfish he took from a damaged pet shop building and the three budgies he is about to take from somewhere else.
