A fire broke out in a country house in the village of Kolbinka in the Tomsk region of Russia. As the flames spread to all parts of the wooden structure, intense efforts were made to save the occupants of the house. Despite the efforts of the fire department and rescue teams, five children, the youngest aged seven and the oldest aged twelve, as well as their 48-year-old father and 41-year-old mother, died in the flames.
The Russian Investigative Committee announced the start of an investigation into the fire. While the exact cause of the fire was not disclosed, the 41-year-old mother’s statement was taken three times on the allegation that she had previously used violence against her children.
