A family of seven was dramatically rescued from floodwaters in Pakistan’s Baluchistan province when a construction equipment operator pulled their vehicle to safety in the Qilla Abdullah region. The Chief Minister of Baluchistan, Sarfraz Bugti, announced a cash reward for the operator, praising his public service.
From July 1 to August 19, severe floods across Pakistan have claimed at least 200 lives and injured 362 people, according to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). The floods also partially destroyed 1,559 buildings and completely demolished 734 structures.
