The leader of Stram Kurs Party (Hard Line) and a far-right Danish-Swedish citizen Rasmus Paludan, burned a Qur’an under the protection of multiple police officer in Denmark this time after Sweden. Dozens of police officers and the Danish Intelligence Agency (PET) undercover personnel were acted as close guards of Paludan, while he was burning the Qur’an in the Sneserevej Neighborhood, where Muslims live, in Tarnby city of Denmark. Paludan said, he did this action to show that the Swedish police couldn’t protect him and that the Danish police are able to protect him properly.
On the other hand, Paludan burned a Qur’an on April 14 in Linköping, Sweden. After the incident, violence broke out in many cities in the country. During the violence, 14 people and 26 police officers were injured, and more than 40 people were detained. Many vehicles including 20 police vehicles were set on fire during the incident.
