Female Students Shine in Türkiye’s Largest Maritime High School

At Samsun Nedime Serap Ulusoy Maritime High School, 4 female students are standing out among 380 male classmates, aiming for careers in maritime fields like captaincy and naval officer roles. The school, located in Tekkeköy district, offers training with ship engines and simulators, with a high employment rate for graduates.

One of the students, Sümeyra Gümüş, emphasized that women are just as capable as men in maritime careers, saying, “The lion’s female is also a lion.” Another student, Asiye Çelik, hopes the number of female students will increase, advocating for more women in maritime roles.

School Principal Ali Kazak highlighted the promising career opportunities for graduates, who can find jobs immediately upon receiving their diplomas, with good salaries paid in dollars, even without a university degree. Kazak encouraged more female students to pursue maritime education, noting the growing interest in the field.
