A fire broke out at 03:55 local time on a passenger ferry named MV Esperanza Star, sailed from the Philippines island of Siquijor towards Taglibaran port in Bohol province. The ferry, which was learned to carry around 120 passengers, was entirely evacuated before the fire escalated. The incident was first responded by fishing boats and the coast guard boat in the vicinity. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
