Fidan Calls For Unity And Lasting Peace At Turkic States Summit

 

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said “significant progress has been made toward lasting peace in the South Caucasus,” speaking at the Council of Foreign Ministers meeting of the 12th Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Summit. Fidan emphasized that the Turkic World must act as a key regional actor, deepening cooperation and mutual trust among member states. He called for joint action on geopolitical challenges and voiced support for recognizing the rights of Turkish Cypriots, saying their inclusion in the OTS strengthens unity. Highlighting the joint declaration between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Fidan said opening new transport links would help revive the historic Silk Road. On Gaza, he condemned Israel’s actions as genocide, urging a permanent ceasefire and a two-state solution.
