final countdown for biggest regional viaduct in Turkey’s Bitlis

The steel bridge, which will be the first in the region and one of Turkey’s rare projects, built on the Bitlis-Diyarbakır road, which is difficult to pass due to landslides every year in winter. A total of 350 people work at factories in Ankara and Bitlis to construct the bridge, which is approximately one kilometer long. The bridge will provide the continuation of the traffic flow despite the risk of landslide, which is one of the major problems in the region.

The maximum span of the Bitlis Stream viaduct is one kilometer, with two side piers and 10 middle piers, and its maximum span is 90 meters. At the same time, the foot height is 54 meters. This project is done with the push-slide method. It is of steel construction and has a weight of 14,700 tons.
