Fire Aboard Cargo Ship in North Sea Continues for Two Days

A fire on the Panama-flagged cargo ship, Fremantle Highway, has been burning for two days off the Dutch island of Ameland in the North Sea. The ship, carrying 2,857 vehicles, caught fire after an electric car ignited. Coast Guard officials predict it could take days or weeks to fully extinguish the fire due to the risk of the ship capsizing if filled with water. Among the 23 crew members, some jumped into the sea to escape the flames, while others were rescued. However, one crew member died, and several survivors with fractures and burns were hospitalized.
