A fire broke out in the Surgical Building of the United Military Hospital in the city of Peshawar in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The Pakistani army used a military helicopter to evacuate the patients and staff who had escaped the fire and climbed onto the hospital’s roof. Those on the lower floors were removed from the building using a ladder.
While no one was killed or injured in the fire, the cause of the fire is not yet known. According to reports, the fire may have started due to a short circuit in the electrical installation.
