A fire broke out in the paper mill of the Smurfit Kappa company in the city of Birmingham in the West Midlands region of England last night. The fire quickly spread after the factory’s 8,000 tons of compressed cardboard caught fire. While a large number of firefighters were dispatched to the scene, authorities advised residents living near the factory not to go outside and to keep their windows closed.
Fire brigade officials stated that there were no casualties or injuries , and extinguishing efforts are continuing in the area.
