Fire at Transformer Center Near Heathrow Airport in London Halts Flights

A fire broke out at around 23:23 local time last night at the transformer center that supplies electricity to Heathrow Airport in Hayes, near the borough of Hillingdon in London, England, causing disruption in flights and leaving many buildings without power.

The London Fire Brigade said that at least 16,000 homes and businesses were affected by the outage and that approximately 150 locals were evacuated.

According to the flight tracking site FlightRadar24, a total of 1,351 flights, both in and out, will be affected by the power outage.
