Fire Erupts at Oil Field in Southern Iraq

A fire broke out in a crude oil storage tank at the Rumaila oil field in Basra, southern Iraq, a site responsible for one-third of the country’s oil production. Thick smoke and flames were seen rising from the area.

Firefighting teams have been deployed, and efforts to control the blaze are ongoing. Initial reports confirm that three people were injured. The Rumaila oil field produces approximately 1.45 million barrels of oil daily.
