Fire in Kuwait Claims 49 Lives, Majority Indians

A devastating fire in a six-story building housing foreign workers in Mangaf, Kuwait, has claimed 49 lives, with 40 identified as Indian nationals, primarily from Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The fire also left 50 Indians injured.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences, and Indian State Minister Kirti Vardhan Singh is in Kuwait to oversee the situation. Local reports indicate the building was over-occupied, housing 196 workers. Victims also included citizens of Pakistan, Bangladesh, the Philippines, and Nepal.
