fire in tent city in türkiye

A fire broke out this morning in a tent city in Kahramanmaraş, Türkiye, where earthquake victims settled in after the the severe earthquakes. As a result of the fire, which broke out in an electric stove, one person was slightly injured, and eight tents became unusable.

“I saw the fire, I looked to see if there was anything we could do, but I was late. There was nothing left to do. An average of 10 people lived in each tent. At least 50 people living here in total were affected by the fire,” said Mehmet Barbars, a volunteer working at the place.
