In the US state of California, a fire whirl appeared in wildfires caused by extreme temperatures as crews were battling the fire. The footage shows a firefighting aircraft drops water near the fire whirl spinning in the smoke-filled sky. Across California, 15,200 firefighters were assigned to firefighting efforts. Thousands of people were evacuated from their homes, while 400 homes and buildings were destroyed in the state due to the fires.
