A powerful explosion broke out on a platform equipped with fireworks during the festivities held in the town of Tehuetlan in the Mexican state of Hidalgo. While panicking crowd caused a stampede, 17, including 3 children and 2 pregnant women, were injured with burns on their bodies. One of the injured children is in serious health condition.
Local administrators stated that the fire was extinguished in a short time by the firefighters present at the festival area. An investigation into the incident has been initiated.
