The PKK terrorist organization began laying down its arms today following statements by its imprisoned leader Abdullah Öcalan.
The first group of 30 members conducted a symbolic disarmament ceremony near the Casne cave, 10–15 kilometers from Dukan in Iraq’s Sulaymaniyah province. Named the “Peace and Democratic Society Group,” the militants reportedly fired their weapons before surrendering them.
This marks the first step in a broader disarmament process expected to continue in the coming months.
