The first crescent moon of 2026 created striking evening views in Van, eastern Türkiye. Appearing as a thin arc on the western horizon after sunset, the crescent stood out clearly in sub-zero temperatures. Flights departing from Van Ferit Airport passed in front of the moon, adding to the visual spectacle. The crescent was also seen gliding over Lake Van, drawing the attention of residents and photographers.
