First Friday Prayer Held at Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem

Around 80,000 Muslims performed the first Friday prayer of Ramadan at Al-Aqsa Mosque in Israeli-occupied Jerusalem, according to local authorities. Palestinians from the West Bank lined up at checkpoints, including Qalandiya, to enter the city.

Israeli authorities imposed entry restrictions, applying a 10,000-person quota and limiting access based on age and permit status. Many Palestinians with permits were reportedly denied entry, while those allowed filled the المسجد compound and surrounding courtyards.
