In accordance with the grain shipment agreement signed on July 22 in Istanbul by Ukraine, Russia, Turkey, and the United Nations (UN), the cargo ship RAZONI departed from Odessa Port bound for Lebanon. According to authorities, Ukrainian merchant ships will accompany the cargo ship for a set distance.
Efforts for grain export have begun at the Ukrainian ports of Chornomorsk, Yuzhne, and Odessa. Last Friday, Ukraine’s President Vladimir Zelenskiy visited the port of Chornomorsk, one of three ports where grain shipments will be made, and stated, “The first ship has been loaded. This indicates that the port is now operational. The Ukrainian side is fully prepared. Our Infrastructure Minister is in direct contact with the Turkish side and the UN, and we are waiting for their approval to begin shipping.”
