Van cats, which are under special care and protection at the Van Cat Research and Application Center, visited by tens of thousands of local and foreign people every year, gave birth to the first of the year.
“So far, two of our mother cats have given birth. It was the first birth of one of them. First births usually have a low number of offspring. We currently have 5 kittens from two mothers,” said facility Manager Prof. Dr. Abdullah Kaya.
Van cats are registered as a national breed in Türkiye and very popular around the world, due to their friendliness, white, long and fluffy fur, odd-eyes and fondness for water.
