Five people were killed and 13 people were injured in consecutive armed and bomb attacks in the southern provinces of Thailand, Narathiwat and Pattani yesterday.
At 19:00 local time last evening, multiple masked and armed assailants in 2 vehicles opened fire on the people around the Sungai Kolok district building in Narathiwat province and detonated 100 kilos of explosives in a car previously parked inside. The building’s security guard died at the scene, another security guard died in the hospital, and 10 people, including 3 civilians, were injured.
In another attack carried out in Pattani province at around the same time, 3 security guards were killed and 1 person was injured when a roadside bomb was detonated.
