flash floods kill 10 in Australia

Heavy rains that have been effective in Australia for the past week have caused flooding. 10 people lost their lives in the country, where the precipitation was above the seasonal norms. So far, 80,000 requests have been made for disaster support from 35 local government units, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced.

An evacuation order has been issued for the city of Ballina, in the northern state of New South Wales. In Brisbane, it was reported that for the first time, more than 200 millimeters of rain fell on three consecutive days, prompting evacuations. Tomorrow’s precipitation is expected to be 150-200 millimeters, according to the Bureau of Meteorology, which publishes the current weather forecast.
