Guangxi, Guangdong, and Fujian provinces in China experienced the heaviest rains in 60 years. According to a statement issued today by the Emergency Disaster Department in China’s Guangdong province, more than 77,000 people were evacuated from the region due to heavy rains, 1,729 houses were destroyed, and 27,000 hectares of land were damaged. The death toll in southern China’s torrential rains has risen to 32.
Today, heavy rain is expected to continue in southern Guizhou, Jiangxi, Anhui, Zhejiang, and Guangxi provinces.
