flash floods submerge streets in China’s Guangdong

Flash floods caused by heavy rains hit Guangdong province in southern China. Red alert was issued in the cities of Taishan, Heuyan, Zhuhai, Zhongshan and Shenzhen. Disaster and emergency teams were dispatched to the region. Four rivers in Guangdong have exceeded the flood alert level, causing thousands to leave for safe areas.

Public parks and cultural venues in the province were closed due to heavy rain, while education was suspended for 2 days in kindergartens, primary schools and high schools in some provinces. Ferry and train services were suspended in many cities.
