Flights suspended due to ashfall caused by Mexico’s popocatepetl

Mexico’s Popocatepetl Volcano, which is expected to severely erupt in the coming years, erupted three times and spewed gas and ash 109 times yesterday. Authorities announced that flights at Puebla International Airport were suspended for a day due to the volcanic ash that fell on the runway. Ashfall is expected to continue around the airport, said Puebla Civil Protection Coordination.
