Flood led to state of emergency announcement in New Zealand

After River Maitai in Nelson city overflowed, Nelson and the Southern coast of New Zealand are announced as under state of emergency. Also, 2,000 houses inside the zone are evacuated. Many houses and roads are flooded. Citizens are warned to stay in the safe zones and keep their distances with bridges and rivers.

Another river, River Buller in Westport, is expected to overflow until Thursday and the residents are told to leave as soon as possible.
