The flood caused by heavy rains harms the coastral town of Alcanar in the Autonomous Region of Catalonia, located in the northeast of Spain. Flood waters covered the streets and caused damage to houses and workplaces. About 10 vehicles were dragged into the sea. Communication was disrupted due to the damage to the telephone lines, and at least 5,000 houses were left without electricity.
