Floods and Landslides Kill 34 in India

 

At least 34 people have died in floods and landslides caused by four days of heavy rain in India’s Sikkim state. Tourists stranded in the area are being evacuated. Army rescue teams have also been deployed in Meghalaya and Manipur. The Meteorological Department warned of increasing rainfall.

In neighboring Bangladesh, a landslide killed four members of the same family. Authorities issued warnings for possible new landslides and flash floods.
