Heavy rains triggered severe flooding in Osh, southern Kyrgyzstan, causing extensive damage and loss of life. The Kyrgyz Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that a 4-year-old girl’s body was found in Uzbekistan’s Andijan city, while search and rescue operations continue for four missing individuals.
Dayirbek Orunbekov, head of the Information Policy Service of the Kyrgyz Presidential Administration, detailed the destruction: 342 houses, 16 vehicles, and 25 hectares of agricultural land were damaged. The overflowing river inundated markets, parks, and homes, forcing residents to seek refuge on rooftops while awaiting rescue.
