Floods Engulf Russian Town as Frozen River Melts

Floods occurred in the town of Asha in the Chelyabinsk region of Russia as the Sim River, which was frozen, melted due to the above-seasonal temperatures.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations announced that 275 people, including 68 children, were evacuated.

The Russian Ministry of Defense took action to prevent flooding in the Sim River and started to work to break the ice in the river.
