Severe flooding in Indonesia’s capital, Jakarta, has displaced 1,229 people after heavy rains caused the Ciliwung River to overflow, submerging parts of the city.
Floodwaters reached up to five meters in some areas, closing roads and inundating homes. Authorities set up 11 evacuation centers across four districts, while emergency teams were deployed to assist affected residents.
Meteorologists warn that heavy rains are expected to continue throughout the week, raising concerns about further flooding.
