Floods in South Korea Force Over 2,500 to Evacuate

Heavy rainfall in South Korea triggered floods and landslides, leaving one dead and forcing 2,523 people from 1,836 households to evacuate, mainly in South Jeolla, South Gyeongsang, and surrounding provinces.

Authorities recovered the body of a man in his 60s swept away by floodwaters in Muan. The Korea Meteorological Administration warned that heavy rains will continue, especially in Busan, Ulsan, and South Gyeongsang, where rainfall may exceed 120 mm.

Last month, similar floods killed 19 people and inundated nearly 30,000 hectares of farmland, killing 1.8 million livestock.
