Floods in Vietnam Raise Death Toll to Eight

Heavy rainfall in Vietnam has triggered new floods and landslides, raising the death toll to eight. Six people were killed last week when a bus was swept away, and two more deaths were confirmed after renewed flooding.

Homes in central villages were inundated and hundreds of families evacuated. Schools were closed in Gia Lai Province, while cleanup continues in Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The rainfall has also hit key coffee-producing regions during harvest season, slowing production. Authorities warned that heavy rain, flood risks, and landslides will continue.
