Floods Kill 13 After Record Rainfall in Central Vietnam

Severe floods triggered by record-breaking rainfall have killed 13 people and left 11 missing in central Vietnam. The historic cities of Hue and Hoi An were among the hardest hit, with homes submerged up to their roofs.

Water levels in Hoi An have begun to recede, allowing residents to start cleanup efforts. Authorities reported that 116,000 houses and 5,000 hectares of farmland were flooded, while roads, railways, and power lines were damaged. Tourism has also been hit hard, with many visitors canceling plans to visit Hoi An.
