Floods kill 3 in Japan

According to the Japanese authorities, two people were found dead in the floods caused by the heavy rains that started on Friday in the cities of Kitaibaraki and Hitachiota in Ibaraki province. Meanwhile, a policeman lost his life after falling from the roof of a building during damage assessment work in the town of Otaki in Chiba province. It was noted that search and debris removal efforts are continuing and that the number of casualties may increase.

The waters flooded a total of 1,200 buildings in Fukushima province, while 157 regions in Ibaraki province and 37 regions in Chiba province faced landslides.
