Floods Kill Nine In Ukraine’s Odessa

 

Heavy rains triggered floods in the southern city of Odessa, killing nine people, according to emergency services.

Officials said 362 people were rescued as floodwaters submerged vehicles and buildings. Mayor Gennady Trukhanov noted, “In just seven hours, almost two months’ worth of rain fell on Odessa. No drainage system could handle such a load.”
