Floods rip through homes, roads in australia

The towns of Forbes, Eugowra and Molong were flooded due to flooding caused by heavy rain in the Australian state of New South Wales. Hundreds of people stranded at their homes were rescued by helicopters. There was also extensive damage to some roads due to the heavy rain that caused the Wyangala Dam to overflow. A total of 222 rescue efforts have been carried out in the past 24 hours, half of which were in one town alone, authorities said.
