Florida Police catches jet ski thief with borrowed family boat

The Volusia Sheriff’s Office in Florida, USA, responded to the scene after the Ormond Beach Police Department reported a jet ski theft. Police asked for assistance from a family preparing to sail out on a boat to apprehend Ronald Williams, 48, who escaped on the jet ski. The police took the family’s boat and pursued the suspect, after getting family’s permission. Soon after, a police officer who saw the suspect called out, “Put your hands up! Come over here!” and requested that the suspect swim to the boat. Police approached the jet ski and detained Williams after he stated that he couldn’t swim.

After apprehending the suspect, the police returned the boat to the family waiting at the pier. The stolen jet skin was also returned to its owner.
