Fog and Sunrise Highlight Selimiye Mosque in Türkiye

Morning fog covered the city center of Edirne in northwestern Türkiye, forming striking views around its historic landmarks. The minarets and dome of the Selimiye Mosque appeared through the mist as sunlight reflected off the structure, producing a postcard-like scene.

The mosque, regarded by Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan as his masterpiece, took on a fairytale silhouette as it rose above the fog. The visual spectacle drew the attention of residents and photographers in the early hours.
