Football referee pushed into steep in Chile

A referee, named Luis Chavez, was pushed into a steep by players after beaten up in Chile. In an ongoing match between Deportivo Real 1 de Mayo and Club Salvador, some Deportivo Real 1 de Mayo players physically attacked the referee as he showed one of the players a red card. After battering the referee with bare hands and bats, the players pushed him into a steep. An ambulance arrived to take Chavez after the other referees and players helped him. Luis Chavez stated that he will sue them and if justice is not secured, even more violent incidents will occur in the fields.

The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights of Chile stated that the needed legal support will be provided to Chavez and an investigation on the incident will be carried out. Chairman of Deportivo Real 1 de Mayo said that the 2 players involved in the violence will be exported. The Chile Ministry of Sport stated that games next week will be played without a referee in order to protest violence in the fields.
