forest fire at Arizona outskirts forces thousands of evacuations

Forest fires broke out at two different points on the outskirts of Flagstaff, Coconino, in the north of the US state of Arizona. Approximately 2,500 houses were evacuated while the flames were suppressed by air and land. “We all felt the pain of watching our beautiful mountain burn,” said Patrice Horstman, Chairman of the Coconino County Supervisory Board.” We understand how difficult this is for those who have been evacuated and those whose homes are in danger,” Horstman added.

While a state of emergency was declared in Coconino, 6,600 acres of land has been destroyed so far.
