At least 392 hectares of land have been destroyed in a forest fire in the city of Roses, in the Catalonia region of Spain. 40 firefighters and 5 aircraft were involved in the extinguishing efforts, officials reported. The local government of Roses city warned citizens to stay home and stay away from the fire. It was reported that 12 people living in the fire area were evacuated for safety reasons, and transportation of 10 citizens was cut off due to the flames blocking the road.

While investigating the cause of the fire, the first information obtained indicates that the fire was caused by plant wastes burned in the environment, authorities said.
