Forest Fire Prompts Evacuations in Central Israel

A forest fire in Israel’s Beit Shemesh region forced the evacuation of Mesilat Zion and Eshtaol settlements between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Highway 38 was closed as flames spread rapidly due to strong winds.

Dozens of drivers reportedly fled on foot, abandoning their vehicles. Around 50 firefighting teams, four planes, and a helicopter are battling the blaze, which remains uncontrolled.
